Check out Paula Chinick’s http://www.redasscherdotcom/blog to read about the parents of Anya, the protagonist in RED ASSCHER which will be in print by the end of the year.
Paula Chinick, present president of California Writers Club, Tri-Valley Branch, and Vi Moore, past president, celebrated with us at Paula’s house after the Las Positas College book launch on May 11th.
I attended a poetry workshop this morning with Julie K. Royce, author of PILZ, Paula Chinick, author of RED ASSCHER, and Carol McLean, poet and essayist. Glen Meisenheimer demonstrated how to write a poem in anapest and iambic meters. As a group, there were twelve of us, we wrote a joint poem for each and a limerick. Here is our anapest poem:
In the midst of the storm, I cannot see the light
I am cold, I am scared, I am lost in the night.
Will I languish in darkness or learn how to cope?
Yes, I know I’ll see morning, I’ll not give up hope.
